The Duke of Edinburgh award is an excellent way for young people aged between 14 and 24 years old to develop new skills and interests and is a recognised sign of achievement by many employers.
There are 4 sections to complete for bronze and silver which include, helping the community/environment, becoming fitter, developing new skills and planning, training for and completing an expedition. achieving an award will give you confidence and skills and an edge over others when applying for university or a job.
Who can do DofE?
Anyone can take part and complete the Duke of Edinburgh award, the award isn't about being first but about being there and taking part, setting personal challenges and boundaries.
What skills will I learn?
Throughout the Duke of Edinburgh award young people will face challenges and will build valuable life skills such as resilience, problem-solving, working well in a team, as well as enhancing CV'S, university and job applications.
